Gogora Learning Tower: Safety Standards & Recommendations
When choosing furniture for a child, the main question is: “How safe is it?” For a learning tower, safety isn’t just about “preventing falls.” It is a system that considers a child’s anatomy, center of gravity, and motor skills.
We want to take a closer look at the details that make the Gogora tower an exceptionally safe and reliable environment.
Structural Integrity — Why 15mm Plywood?
We use 15mm thick birch plywood because it provides the necessary weight and inertia. When a child moves or jumps inside the tower, the construction does not vibrate or lean. Weight is your ally here—it keeps the tower “grounded.”
Anti-Tip American Standard
The biggest risk with towers is sideways leaning. The Gogora tower base is reinforced with American-standard anti-tip legs. These stabilizers expand the tower’s footprint on the floor, making it nearly impossible to tip over.
Grip Ergonomics (24.5mm Rod)
It might seem like a small detail, but the 24.5mm rod thickness is specifically chosen for a child’s hand anatomy. This size allows for a perfect “Power Grip,” giving the child full control while climbing up or down.
The “Elbow Rule” (Adjustable Levels)
The tower features 3 adjustable platform heights (18cm, 35cm, and 46cm). Why is this so important?
Ideally, the work surface (such as a kitchen counter) should be at the child’s elbow level. If the platform is too low, the child has to overstretch, which can lead to a loss of balance. If it’s too high, they have to hunch over, which puts unnecessary strain on their spine.
- Expert Recommendation: The workspace should be at the child’s elbow height. Use the first position (46cm) starting from 10 months and lower it as they grow to keep their chest and back always protected by the rails.
🛡️ Critical Safety Tips:
Follow these tips to ensure your tower is as effective as possible:
- First Introduction: Avoid forcing your child into the tower. Instead, let them explore and climb up on their own. Our two-step system (11cm and 22cm) is specifically designed to help your little one safely and independently navigate their way up.
- Surface: Always place the tower on a flat, solid floor. Avoid slippery rugs.
- Supervision: Even with our safety rails, adult supervision is mandatory.
- Distance: Ensure the child cannot reach hazards like hot kettles or sharp knives.
- Maintenance: If liquid spills, wipe it dry with a soft cloth to maintain the wood’s quality.
The Gogora tower is more than just an ‘elevated platform.’ It is a space meticulously designed for a child’s physical growth, focusing on their safety and providing parents with peace of mind. With its versatile dimensions, this tower is built to be an essential part of your family for years to come.
