DIY Climbing triangle (Folding)

The Climbing Triangle is the best product for endless games, physical and mental development of young children. It was created by Hungarian pediatrician Emmi Pikler in the 1930s. She believed that children should be given the freedom to move and explore their environment at a pace that is comfortable for them. This type of exploration is crucial for a child’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

Due to its uniqueness and versatility, the triangle is used from 6 months to approximately 5-6 years. With regular use, little ones develop coordination and motor skills, learn body control, and become physically stronger.

As a child’s age increases, the ways of using the Pikler Climbing Triangle become more diverse.

Here are some ideas for joint play with your little ones aged 18 months and older:

• Place the climbing triangle in the middle of the room and take turns throwing a ball. Whoever gets it through the “gate” wins.
• If playing with dolls is your child’s favorite activity, they probably need their pretend clothes washed and hung out to dry. Where shall we hang the doll’s clothes?
• When the doll gets tired of housework, make a hammock on the Pikler triangle where it can rest to regain strength.
• Use the climbing triangle for a puppet theater. Hang a cloth over it and create a stage, act out current issues for your little one. For example, the cat took the dog’s favorite toy, and the dog is very angry. Let the children find a way to solve the problem and enjoy the process.

At this time, don’t forget that everything can be tried in the game. Children set the rules during play, and we, adults, follow along. If you want to make any comments – introduce an adequate way to solve the problem within the game itself, for example: the cat will say that it had a flash of insight and came up with the idea to make an appointment and take turns sharing the toy.

The triangle’s construction does not require wall mounting; it can be moved freely. It is compact and easily foldable, allowing it to be placed anywhere, including hanging on the wall.
